Singer-songwriter Darrell Scott knows a thing or two about writing a hit. His repertoire includes writing hit songs performed by artists like the Dixie Chicks, Travis Tritt, Sam Bush, and Brad Paisley. But not only can he write, but he can also sing as he proved at the show in Tampa, Florida in front of a large crowd at the MIDFLORIDA Credit Union Amphitheatre.
Opening the show for a large headlining group like the Zac Brown Band is a challenge for any group. But as an army of one, Darrell Scott hit the stage to showcase his career’s work performing songs like “The Man Who Could Have Played Bass for Shanana” and “Hank William’s Ghost”. Then, members of the Zac Brown Band appeared to help out Darrell play a few more songs which had the crowd in a frenzy especially when the song “Long Time Gone” performed by the Dixie Chicks was played.
Scott started performing in his teens in California and has relocated to cities like Toronto and Boston. However, his true Nashville roots were evident. And with the help of the Zac Brown Band, those fans in the crowd that haven’t heard of him before sure became his newest fans.
