The music world is still mourning the untimely loss of foo Fighters drummer Taylor Hawkins. Many bands have expressed their love and admiration for the drummer, with some performing Foo Fighters tracks live.
Shinedown recently performed a cover of FOO FIGHTERS’ “Wheels” during its current tour as a tribute to FF drummer Taylor Hawkins, who died last month while on tour in Colombia. Lead guitarist Zach Myers handled lead vocals for the song, which was originally recorded for FOO FIGHTERS’ “Greatest Hits” album with producer Butch Vig. Although it is not a massive hit in the USA, the song garnered a lot of success overseas and its one of the “deep cuts” many fans can relate with.
Myers said, “If you’ve ever wondered about the impact one human could make on an entire community, look at your timeline today. It’s filled with this man … who was one of the nicest, coolest and most talented people on this earth. You’ll be sorely missed. Our love and thoughts and prayers go to the Hawkins family and the Foos.”
A lucky fan at the show recorded the cover which can be viewed below:
