Last week, the Metro in Chicago teased a mystery “secret show”, then confirmed Greta Van Fleet as an official Lollapalooza aftershow. The band wasn’t even on that year’s Lollapalooza lineup, so squeezing into the tiny 1,100-capacity Metro was a deliberate curveball for fans expecting them at the festival’s main stages instead. The show doubled as a release-day celebration for their new single “Saw You Stand,” which the band debuted live for the first time that night. This show at the 1,100-capacity Chicago venue came roughly two months after the Detroit-born, Nashville-based rockers played a comparable small-room set at New York’s Bowery Ballroom — the gig where they first unveiled their newest single, “Play Your Games”. New Album “Palace For The People” Arrives October 9
GRETA VAN FLEET’s next full-length, “Palace For The People”, drops on October 9. Tracked in Tennessee during spring 2026, the record was co-produced alongside Mike Elizondo — the studio mastermind behind projects for TURNSTILE, Eminem, and Fiona Apple. Early word suggests the band sounds tighter, more energized, and more unified than on any previous release.
The concept behind “Palace For The People” traces back to the band’s sold-out 2022 world tour, when GRETA VAN FLEET headlined London’s iconic Alexandra Palace. While there, a friend shared the venue’s backstory: the Victorian-era structure was originally christened “The Palace Of The People,” built not for royalty or the elite but as a public gathering space where ordinary people could “escape and wonder.” For its time, that was a genuinely radical idea.
Fast-forward to 2026, and that history stuck with the band. They found themselves asking a bigger question: what would a “palace for the people” look like in today’s world — and what would it take to build one?

From Frankenmuth to Rock’s Global Stage
GRETA VAN FLEET’s journey from small-town Frankenmuth, Michigan, to international arenas has cemented them as one of the most recognizable rock acts of their generation. With multiple platinum albums, a Grammy Award, and sold-out world tours under their belt, the band has repeatedly defied genre expectations while carving out a sound that’s unmistakably their own. “Palace For The People” is shaping up to be their most ambitious artistic statement to date.
GRETA VAN FLEET — brothers Josh Kiszka (vocals), Jake Kiszka (guitar), and Sam Kiszka (bass, keyboards), plus drummer Daniel Wagner — hadn’t taken the stage together since September 2024. That doesn’t mean they were idle, though:
- Sam Kiszka and Danny Wagner contributed to “The Dreamin’ Kind”, the 2026 record from Pennsylvania singer-songwriter Langhorne Slim.
- Jake Kiszka showed up on screen last year, playing a club guitarist in the Bruce Springsteen biopic “Springsteen: Deliver Me From Nowhere”.
- MIRADOR — the side project Jake Kiszka co-founded with Chris Turpin of IDA MAE — dropped a new EP titled “The Gathering At Badon Hill”.
