Legendary Smashing Pumpkins drummer Jimmy Chamberlin is set to sell over 200 items from his personal collection on Reverb, including many pieces used live and in the studio with The Smashing Pumpkins, Zwan, and other projects throughout his career.
Jimmy’s impetus for letting such a large amount of equipment go is simple. He likes to keep things fresh, always looking forward when it comes to his sound and playing.
After 20–plus years of collecting gear for various projects, he believes these instruments should be in the hands of people who will play them regularly.
Watch a Preview Video on what will be offered:
From three massive Yamaha drum kits (including a Maple Custom used on sessions for Mellon Collie and the Infinite Sadness) to over a dozen snares such as ones by Ludwig, Ayotte, and Brady, this collection is as diverse and vast as Jimmy’s body of work.
Also up for sale are a number of hand percussion instruments, drum heads, guitars, microphones, and pieces of outboard gear.
Jimmy’s shop will be live on February 22. Check out the gallery below to see some highlights of the items that will be available for purchase, including the ‘40s Slingerland Radio King played on the verses of the Pumpkins’ 1993 hit “Today.”
