Three Days Grace Live at the 98Rockfest!

Three Days Grace hit the stage to a sold out crowd at Amalie Arena in Tampa, FL at the 98Rockfest.  The show started outside of the arena at 2PM with bands like 10 Years and Powerman 5000 and continued non stop throughout the night.  Before Three Days Grace set, the crowd looked apathetic and sun burned from a long afternoon in the hot Florida sun.  But when the lights cut out and the opening riff started for the new single, “The Mountain”, the momentum shifted instantly.

People sometimes forget the depth of the Three Days Grace catalog and just how MANY hits they’ve got up their sleeve.  After opening with “The Mountain”, the band jumped into “I Am Machine”, then “Break” and into “Pain”.  With the amount of radio hits 3DG has, the deck was stacked in their favor.

Everyone in the pit was fist pumping and singing along while front man Matt Walst paraded around the stage and jumping on top of the stage monitors demanding the crowds attention.  Since taking over as front man after founding member Adam Gontier departed, it’s clear he’s the man for the job.  Plus, his brother Brad is the bassist – who wouldn’t want to be in a rock band with their brother?
