Chevy Metal All Star Jam with Foo Fighters, RHCP, & Janes Addiction

At the Rock & Roll Pizza Bar situated in Simi Valley, California, a concert was performed by a trio consisting of Dave Grohl from the Foo Fighters, Chad Smith from the Red Hot Chili Peppers, and Shane Hawkins, the offspring of Taylor Hawkins. The event showcased their musical talents under the moniker “Chevy Metal,” a tribute band that emerged as the secondary musical venture of the late Taylor Hawkins, the former drummer of Foo Fighters, who unfortunately passed away in 2022.

The ensemble, known as Chevy Metal, delivered an assortment of 17 songs throughout their performance. Their repertoire encompassed tracks by iconic bands such as Led Zeppelin, Black Sabbath, and Mötley Crüe. The concert commenced with a rendition of “Next To You,” originally composed by The Police. Among the selections, the trio dedicated three tracks to Van Halen, including renditions of “Jamie’s Cryin,” “Everybody Wants Some!!,” and “Unchained.”

Shane, who happens to be Taylor Hawkins’ progeny, had previously participated with Chevy Metal in past performances earlier in the year within California. During one of these prior shows, Shane collaboratively played covers of songs by Led Zeppelin and Black Sabbath alongside Sebastian Bach, renowned for his association with Skid Row.  Check out the fan-filmed videos from the star studded all star jam below!
