The Cadillac Three are no strangers to the road! The southern rock 3 piece have been touring relentlessly not only as “The Cadillac Three” for the last decade, but also a previous rock group called “American Bang”. Currently, The Cadillac Three just started a summer tour dubbed “The Bandwagon Tour” featuring TC3 and co-headliners Miranda Lambert and Little Big Town. Being the first slot in a show can be tough sometimes. People are still filing in looking for seats, waiting in line for merch, or grabbing another cold one. However, The Cadillac Three rose to the occasion of starting out the evening and in the process, made plenty of new fans in addition to TC3’s fans in attendance.
Nashville’s The Cadillac Three have released three studio albums on Big Machine Records featuring hits like 2015’s “White Lightning” and 2019’s “Crackin’ Cold Ones with the Boys” off the album Country Fuzz. TC3’s music is not easily defined with a hybrid sound across several influences in country, metal, and Southern rock crafting a unique sound that stands out from the crowd. Frontman Jaren Johnson explains, “It’s a just a mixture of kind of everything we grew up listenin’ to, from Skynyrd to Hank to Tom Petty and then throw a little Metallica in there. That’s just kinda what we did.” Check out the music video for “Get After It’ off of Big Machine’s “Soundtrack to Summer” with other tracks from Lady A, Tim McGraw, and Jason Isbell.
The band hit the stage in Tampa, FL at the MIDFLORIDA Credit Union Amphitheatre on Friday, May 13th to open “The Bandwagon Tour”. It’s clear they had a strong fanbase in attendance from the front row pit area all the way back to the lawn seats. The Cadillac Three did what they do best kicking off their set with high energy and crunchy guitar riffs that was impossible to ignore. The sound painted a perfect setting for tailgating and partying with the band clearly passionate and excited to be there. Simply put, do NOT miss them if you have tickets for any of the upcoming Bandwagon tour dates. Even better, TC3 are headlining several dates now through the end of the year!
The band oozed charisma and stage presence while having an absolute blast on stage without the need for small talk banter in between songs. Sometimes a show will have the spotlight on the lead singer only with the rest of the group in the background – not TC3! The stage setup had singer Jaren Johnston front and center, Kelby Ray on a riser stage right playing the steel guitar and bass, and drummer Neil Mason on stage left on a drum riser. All 3 members were highlighted throughout the set and a testament that rock n’ roll is alive and well in The Cadillac Three.
They let the music do the talking with as many songs that they could fit in their shorter set leaving the crowd wanting more – not an easy task for an opening timeslot! As the sun was setting in the amphitheater on a Friday evening, TC3 knew people were ready to unwind after a long workweek, and dialed it up to an 11. The trio are keeping busy for the rest of 2022 with tour dates spanning across the USA and Europe including several headlining shows.
